Integrative Responses

This module allows you to explore multiple physiological responses and with different simulation durations. There are several default (premade) graphs, but you can create additional graphs using any of the variables listed below.

Measurable physiological variables in this module:

  • Metabolic Rate - total metabolic rate (calories/min)
  • Blood Pressure - mean blood pressure in the aorta (mm Hg)
  • Cardiac Output - rate of blood pumped by the left ventricle per minute (ml/min)
  • Heart Rate - heart contractions per minute
  • Stroke Volume - volume of blood pumped by the left ventricle per contraction (ml)
  • Total Ventilation - rate of air breathed per minute (ml/min)
  • Breathing Rate - breaths per minute
  • Tidal Volume - volume per breath (ml)
  • Arterial Po2 - partial pressure of O2 in the arterial blood (mm Hg)
  • Arterial Pco2 - partial pressure of CO2 in the arterial blood (mm Hg)
  • Symp. NS Activity - sympathetic nervous system activity (relative units)
  • Parasymp. NS Activity - parasympathetic nervous system activity (relative units)
  • Glucose - glucose concentration in the blood plasma (mmol/L)
  • Muscle Lactate - lactate concentration in skeletal muscle (mEq/L)
  • Core Temp - (°F)
  • Sweating Rate - (ml/min)
